Warhammer 40,000
Warhammer 40,000 or simply Warhammer 40K is a miniature-based tabletop game. It involves building and painting your own miniature army and pit them against others' on a dioramic 6x4 or 4x4 feet table using a standardized set of game rules. Miniature armies come in various factions, from Imperial commandos to space-faring orks, each with its own background stories (what 40K players call "fluff") and combat units.

My army, a sub-faction of the Adeptus Astartes or the Space Marines, is of the so-called Dark Angels Chapter - one of thousands of regiments of bio-enhanced supersoldiers created by the Emperor of Man to impose his will throughout the grim universe of the 41st millennium.

Dark Angels of the Adeptus Astartes
The Dark Angels Chapter is first among legions of Space Marines bred by the Emperor from his own genetic imprints. Enhanced physiologically for combat operations, they are literally Angels of Death in the battlefield, sowing fear to anyone who dared oppose their mandate. Their homeworld, Caliban - now reduced to a barren asteroid after an epic battle against their traitorous Brothers - holds the Chapter's mobile fortress-monastery called the Tower of Angels. Here, deep within the labyrinthine pathways to the underground caverns, lies the key to their monastic nature. The Dark Angels hides a millenia-long secret that compromised their honor. It is with this reason that they and their Successor Chapters are called the Unforgiven.

i NEED to finish asap

I'm literally in turmoil today. I need to finish painting my army before the second week of October for the Kolat Cup! And I haven't even finished painting my Deathwing Terminator Squad yet!

There's three tanks, two Land Speeders, and a couple of Space Marines more to go next in line.

I think I need my sibs' assistance again even with just basecoating the Marines with Dark Angels Green (dark green) so I'll just baffle myself on how will I get the details done. That I can't leave to my younger sibs for sure. I'll try to come up with something over the week.

On the other hand, I just finished painting and attaching the assault cannon arm of the Terminator. It's a little bit off the scheduled finish time now but it was of course because of my transition works in the office. I'm off to leave the company soon. Well, as usual, real-life obstructions to hobbying!

My next job (in my hobby, that is) is to finish painting the Terminator's other arm which is armed with a Chain Fist. I was already done with the basecoat and probably by tomorrow the model is fully painted. Only then that I could start working on the Deathwing Squad's Sergeant.

Patience. Pagsubok lang to. =)

More Super Glue

I bought a Loctite Super Glue (the one in the plastic container) this afternoon. I need a lot of assembly works in the coming days for my Tactical Squads.

On the other hand, I finished painting the leg parts of the Deathwing Terminator in Assault Cannon and I'm off to the torso part.

Last Weekend

I asked my younger brother and sister to help me prime 10 Tactical Marines and 8 Jump Marines black.

Got em all primed in no time. Thanks to my sibs!

While they're into it, I am continuing to paint the Deathwing Terminator in Assault Cannon. I am currently into detailing it now and hoping to finish it anytime next week.

Two Terminators to Go

One more Deathwing Terminator done for me. I'm off to paint and assemble their next squadmate - another Terminator in Assault Cannon. I got it already prime-coated in Skull White. The next process is to basecoat them in Bleached Bone (bone white) then proceed with the details. Hopefully I could finish it by next week.

So far my Deathwing Squad's status is as follows:

Fully Painted (not yet based)
2 Deathwing Terminator in Storm Bolter
1 Deathwing Terminator in Assault Cannon

Primed in Skull White (to be finished)
1 Deathwing Terminator in Assault Cannon
1 Deathwing Terminator Sergeant in Power Sword

Today's Progress

Finished painting the Deathwing Terminator's Power Fist arm. One arm to go (Storm Bolter arm) and I'm done with another Terminator. It's already basecoated. Perhaps tomorrow I can finish the model.

With it done, there's two more Terminators to go... another Assault Cannon-toting one and the Deathwing Squad's Sergeant.

Dark Angels and Craftworld Iyanden

I lose a game against Jacob's Craftworld Iyanden Eldar army last Friday during the RHCG assembly. The game's for the Eldritch Campaign. 1500 points. Seek and Destroy - Omega Mission. Jacob did not have his Black Templar army that day so I pitted against his Eldar army instead.

It was just then that I learned that the Eldar's Wave Serpent can move and shoot during the Movement Phase of a battle. Besides, it was my first match against an Eldar army and I still have so much to learn on their Codex to battle against these mysterious foes.

Nice to see Roe on the General Meeting too. I'm looking forward to battle it out again with his Blood Angels. It has been already around six months since our last game and my army and tactical strategy back then was so far from mature. I wonder how will I fare against the cohorts of Chaplain Thematt this time.

Also that day, I was able to buy the new Space Marines Tactical Squad boxed set. At last! I was planning to get that one since last June. I got it for 2000PHP. I also purchased a bottle of Dark Angels Green in preparation on painting these Soldiers of Death.

Last weekend, I was able to continue painting the regular Deathwing Terminator I was finishing. Also, I have assembled and primed black my 8-man Assault Squad and a robed Sergeant. The robed Sergeant was armed with a dual-shaft chainsword inspired from Darth Maul's dual-phase lightsaber. I modelled it by simply attaching another chainsword shaft beneath the handle of the Sergeant's original chainsword. On the other hand, the 8-man Assault Squad has 2 Assault Marines in Plasma Pistol and a robed Veteran Sergeant in Power Fist and Combat Shields.

RHCG General Meeting

Tomorrow, I will attend my second RHCG meeting.

RHCG or Rolling Hills Gaming Club is the local organization for Warhammer-related game systems. It aims to promote the hobby to the general public and increase the level of gaming and modelling expertise of the members.

We'll meet in Galleria around 6pm before heading to the RHCG headquarters.

There, I'll probably settle a game with Jacob's Black Templars for the on-going Eldritch Storm Campaign that the Makati players started a couple of months ago. Also, I will prepare a 400 point list for the suggested 40K in 40Minutes mini-battles.

I took a vacation leave at work for this event.

****

On the other hand, I was able to continue painting a regular Deathwing Terminator this afternoon. I've finished painting its legs up to its hips and partially did the chest skull and sword insignia.
