Warhammer 40,000
Warhammer 40,000 or simply Warhammer 40K is a miniature-based tabletop game. It involves building and painting your own miniature army and pit them against others' on a dioramic 6x4 or 4x4 feet table using a standardized set of game rules. Miniature armies come in various factions, from Imperial commandos to space-faring orks, each with its own background stories (what 40K players call "fluff") and combat units.

My army, a sub-faction of the Adeptus Astartes or the Space Marines, is of the so-called Dark Angels Chapter - one of thousands of regiments of bio-enhanced supersoldiers created by the Emperor of Man to impose his will throughout the grim universe of the 41st millennium.

Dark Angels of the Adeptus Astartes
The Dark Angels Chapter is first among legions of Space Marines bred by the Emperor from his own genetic imprints. Enhanced physiologically for combat operations, they are literally Angels of Death in the battlefield, sowing fear to anyone who dared oppose their mandate. Their homeworld, Caliban - now reduced to a barren asteroid after an epic battle against their traitorous Brothers - holds the Chapter's mobile fortress-monastery called the Tower of Angels. Here, deep within the labyrinthine pathways to the underground caverns, lies the key to their monastic nature. The Dark Angels hides a millenia-long secret that compromised their honor. It is with this reason that they and their Successor Chapters are called the Unforgiven.

Recent Events

RHGC General Assembly
Last Friday, RHGC held their first general assembly for the year at the RHGC HQ in New Manila. Happenings are as follows:
*Freddie Yu was appointed the new Chairman of the club in lieu of Ricky.
*Warmachine and 40K games (I had a 500pt game of 40K against Ronald's Spacewolves, and surprise! I used my newly acquired Dark Eldar army courtesy of Troy. Check the "Game Statistics" link in my sidebar for the game details. It was a draw.)
*Announcement of a new structure, wherein the club will have five zones of responsibility called Chapters. It will be comprised of Glorietta 2, Galleria, Hobby Haven, Pitshop, and Alabang. Chapters will be spearheaded by their assigned Chaplain, who will basically be the guiding spoke of the group; and the Librarian, who will coordinate logistics and tournaments. I was appointed Librarian for Makati, alongside Chaplain Gelo. (More of a Warboss-Mekboy tandem, if you ask me.)
*Registration for Gold Membership for this year.
*Grub! Grub! Grub! Gulp! Gulp! Gulp!

I say, it was a successful night. Thanks Oberon for hosting another gut-filling event!

Leeeend Speeder
I will trade a regiment of Orc Boyz for Gelo's Leeeend Speeder. This is the old all-metal box-type Speeder. I just need one more to pair with this beauty.

Run the Gauntlet
That was basically the case with my Warmachine army. I recently dipped em on break fluid to remove the black prime and after that, I metal brushed em one by one to remove the oxidizing patches on the miniatures' surface. Later that Saturday at Da Shakk, Pork helped me on repositioning the warjacks to achieve a more "astig" look while I pinned some of the models.

As of now, I'm not yet done pinning half of the army but hopefully by Saturday I could already start with priming them black again.

Thanks Pork!
