Project Updates
I'm done painting the Stormblade Sergeant at last, and I already have an idea on how my color scheme should look on the Stormblades.
As I planned before, primary colors will be black, shining gold, and mithrill silver. For the boot straps and the waist cape button, I used liche purple then highlighted it with 2:1 liche purple and white. For the waist cape trims, I used regal blue then highlighted the raised surfaces with ultramarines blue. To separate cloth from armor, I highlighted the cloth parts (particularly the waist cape) with codex grey on the creases. On the cloth beneath the layers of armors, I used 2:1 black and codex grey then highlighted it with codex grey just to separate it from the jet black armor which I plan to highlight with regal blue and/or (not decided yet) wash it with blue ink.
For his face, I only have vague ideas how Kim pulled off such cooL work. It's sort of the centerpiece of that miniature. Thanks Kim for the face job!
For the halberd, I used brass for the cylindrical end and washed it with a very dilluted mix of black ink and water just to make it look antiquated. The rod on the other hand was painted boltgun metal then washed with again very dilluted black ink. Then, I highlighted the bevelled edges with mithrill silver. The actual blade and the storm chambers were different work altogether. The frame was left black and should be metal so I'm still undecided on how to highlight the metallic parts. The blades and the lightning conductors were done like the rod's sans the black ink wash. The blade tip was painted brass, then covered with burnished gold, then highlighted with mithrill silver.
The storm chambers were the hardest part of that weapon. I intend to have it look as if it really contains the electric charges that the Stormblade units were known to use. First layer was regal blue. Then from there I highlighted with 2:1 regal blue and ultramarine blue then equal parts of both color then 2:1 ultramarine blue and white then equal parts of both color then finally, white! Whew!
Now, I'm already starting painting two other Stormblades. I already primed both black and just applied primary coloring (brazen brass) for the gold parts.
I also asked my sister last night to prime a Space Marine in Lascannon black. Sloppy work I say. Awk!

*Guest noobs dropped in: Adrian (Twisted Marines) and Ryan (Bad Moonz). Boyz oriented (..err or disoriented??) the guyz on the hubbubs of the community. Chief Lito welcomed the newbies aboard. Might hear from them soon around the forums.
*I played against Adrian's Twisted Marines (...ok, non-Codex Marines!). One of his figs looked like Masked Rider. His list was not that hyped up but promises a number crunched future. Needs more banyo reading of the rule book, more games, and less conversion perversions!
*Grub attack: hotdawg, phishboL, grape juice, kiddie pack juice from Jake, kwekwek, siomai!!
*Boyz plotting on how to decimate a raging Thunderhead before it reaches Manila & eventually MY army! Nyahahahaha! Necromancer Alexia and Khador Old Witch arrived via Alger. How will they perform on tabletop?? I don't even want to imagine how the Ol' Witch will!

boys arrive late as pork over sleeps until 2pm! awk!
heatwave strikes the metro as boys are religated to the 2nd floor as students take over the first floor.... arvin dutifully avoids a heatstroke and stays with the ipms boys in the cooler first floor. pitiful drizzle adds to the misery.....
sir mel gets commitment to finish the gambier bay 48th scale carrier project this summer!
bokur mvp. nuff said.
garrboi cameo but does not hang out for long cause of romy meet at hobby depot, later reported at quattro bistro for a beer session.
boys repair over to bite club katipunan for a burger massacre! sulit ang xxx burger! bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. kim admonishes the boys for not revealing the site sooner.

Another UP-CFA Session

Agenda: boyz early at up-cfa. small talk before jake and emp duke it out with jakes new defender warjack! pol vs fred as the pistol wraiths knock off eiryss and gorman. asphxious is unstoppable as he charges ashlynn to win again! ipms boyz pull out the 48th scale carrier for a photo op! boyz plan to contribute to the project this summer to finish it once and for all!

marlu gets to try out the new games system with magnus and mangles ashlynn with the wrecker ball! boys retire for the nite.....

*I'm still painting my Stormblade Sergeant. Can't find time to finish a large part of it in one sitting.
*Bought a GW Blue Ink yesterday in NG-Galle. This is in preparation for inking the Sergeant's armor to project a bluish hue and separate the metals from the cloth and leather.
*Most of what I'm selling are now on reserve. The Lander Ruins deal will probably be settled this coming Saturday. I still need to know how much will I pay for sending two Razorback boxes to Iloilo City.

Oakwood Campaign Game
Got my first Oakwood Campaign game last night, representing a "surprise army" which is my very own Dark Angels.
I was able to deny Art (omegatron), my opponent, his objective so technically I won.
